Donald Trump’s reps skipped an administrative hearing Thursday about the improper removal of a public bench from Trump Tower — and his organization now faces a $10,000 default judgment.
If imposed, it would be at least the second fine levied by the city after the bench was replaced with kiosks selling Trump merchandise, a violation of a decades-old Trump pledge to keep the Fifth Avenue tower’s atrium as a public space in exchange for permission to build a taller building.
The Office of Administrative Trial Hearings gave Trump 45 days to seek a new hearing. If he misses it, the fine would stand. Messages left for the Trump Organization weren’t returned.
