Donald Trump is overcoming the perception that he won’t end up as the Republican presidential nominee, according to a poll issued Friday.
Fifty-seven percent of likely Republican voters say they think Trump will emerge as the party’s standard-bearer — with 25 percent who believe it’s “very likely,” according to a telephone survey conducted by Rasmussen Reports.
That’s a stark contrast from two months ago, when only 27 percent felt the nomination was likely to go to The Donald.
At that time, just 9 percent said it would be “very likely.”
The poll surveyed 1,000 likely voters and was conducted Aug. 19-20.
Trump’s next event is a rally in Mobile, Ala., tonight — where the real estate mogul has predicted he’ll draw a crowd of 30,000 to 40,000, which would be the largest of the presidential campaign this year.
