President Trump and Russian leader Vladimir Putin had a “very productive talk” over the phone Friday while discussing nuclear and trade agreements.

The two world leaders also discussed the political chaos unfolding in Venezuela as beleaguered President Nicolas Maduro is being pressured to cede power, according to the White House.

White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders told reporters the president was “making clear that the United States stand with the people of Venezuela.”

Trump tweeted that among topics discussed was special counsel Robert Mueller’s report on his investigation into Russia.

“Had a long and very good conversation with President Putin of Russia,” Trump wrote. “As I have always said, long before the Witch Hunt started, getting along with Russia, China, and everyone is a good thing, not a bad thing.”

He added: “We discussed Trade, Venezuela, Ukraine, North Korea, Nuclear Arms Control and even the ‘Russian Hoax.’ Very productive talk!”
