President Trump complained Sunday that he could be given the “great city of Moscow” by the Russians and yet he’d still receive bad reviews from the “enemy” media for his sit-down Monday with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
“Unfortunately, no matter how well I do at the Summit, if I was given the great city of Moscow as retribution for all the sins and evils committed by Russia over the years, I would return to criticism that it wasn’t good enough – that I should have gotten Saint Petersburg in addition!” Trump wrote as part of a belly-aching trio of tweets sent from Air Force one as he traveled between Scotland and Finland Sunday.
He used the tweets to resume his attacks on the American media and the Democrats.
“Much of the news media is indeed the enemy of the people and all the Dems know how to do is resist and obstruct!” Trump complained. “This is why there is such hatred and dissension in our country – but at some point, it will heal!”
Trump’s tweets came after he sat down with CBS News’ Jeff Glor, sounding less-than-prepared for the high stakes meet-and-greet in Helsinki.
When asked about his goal for the meeting with the Russian leader, Trump responded by saying, “I’ll let you know after the meeting.”
CBS asked if Trump planned to push Putin to extradite the 12 Russians named in an indictment that came out Friday as part of Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation into Russia’s 2016 election meddling.
“I hadn’t thought of that,” Trump replied.
Instead of blaming the Russians, the president pointed a finger at the Democrats who he said should have better secured their network to prevent the hack.
“I think the DNC should be ashamed of themselves for allowing themselves to be hacked,” Trump said.
