President Trump scolded his new acting chief of staff Mick Mulvaney during a recent meeting with congressional leaders over the government shutdown, a report said on Sunday.

Trump berated Mulvaney during the Jan. 4 meeting with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer after Mulvaney attempted to find a middle ground with the Dems, according to Axios.

“You just fu–ed it all up, Mick,” Trump told Mulvaney, according to the site.

Trump’s newest chief of staff — who had been on the job for just a few days — was reportedly attempting to negotiate an amount for border security. The president demanded $5.7 billion and Democrats had offered $1.3 billion.

“As a negotiator, Trump was resetting,” a separate source told the website. “Mick was not reading the room or the president.”

A White House official told Axios that the f-bomb directed at Trump’s top aide was all in jest.

“The president and Mulvaney joked about it afterwards,” the official said.
