Just days after announcing his team of 13 top economic advisers, Donald Trump revealed Monday that he is still getting policy advice closer to home — from his daughter Ivanka.
In a speech outlining his proposed radical reforms to US tax, trade, energy and regulatory policies, Trump also turned to a topic more appealing to parents: child care.
“As part of this new future, we will also be rolling out proposals to increase choice and reduce cost in child care, offering much-needed relief to American families,” Trump told the Detroit Economic Club.
“I will unveil my plan on this in the coming weeks that I have been working on with my daughter Ivanka and an incredible team of experts.”
Ivanka Trump, who has an Ivy League degree in economics from the University of Pennsylvania, is a top executive at the Trump Organization and also an author.
She delivered a well-received speech praising her father during the Republican National Convention, and along with his other children has been close to his campaign from the beginning.
