Former President Donald Trump says his historic criminal conviction has been particularly brutal for his family, especially wife Melania and their 18-year-old son, Barron.

“I think in many ways it’s tougher on them than it is on me,” Trump, 77, told Fox and Friends on Sunday in his first television interview since being convicted of falsifying business records in a hush-money scheme to hide an alleged affair with porn star Stormy Daniels.

“They’re good people, all of them — everyone,” he said of his family.

The expected GOP candidate suggested that the “salacious” nature of the trial — along with the gag order preventing him from fully responding — was a scheme by “bad people” to “create havoc.”

“I have a wonderful wife who has to listen to this stuff all the time,” he said of Melania and the allegations made about him.

“She’s fine, but I think it’s very hard for her … she has to read all this c–p,” he said.

Asked about the focus turning on his recently graduated teenage son, Trump proudly said that Barron is “amazing.”

“He’s tall, good-looking, he’s a very good student,” he said. “He’s applied to colleges and gets into everywhere he goes, you know? He’s very sought after from the standpoint. He’s a very smart guy.

“He’s a very tall guy and he’s a great kid. He’s cool. He’s pretty cool, I’ll tell you,” he added.

The former president has slammed the “rigged” trial, despite being under a gag order ahead of his July 11 sentencing, where he faces up to four years in jail.

Trump vowed to appeal, saying he’s “honored” by the legal battle and that “we’re fighting for our Constitution.”

The charges were related to a $130,000 “hush money” payment his former “fixer” lawyer Michael Cohen made to porn star Stormy Daniels to silence her about an alleged one-night stand with Trump.
