If Sen. Chuck Schumer was a Republican — he’d be behind bars for his threats to the Supreme Court, President Trump said on Thursday.

“If a Republican did what Schumer did they would be in jail right now,” Trump said during a Fox News town hall in Scranton, Penn.

Schumer on Wednesday had warned Justices Neil Gorsuch and Brett Kavanaugh they would “pay the price” if they voted to restrict abortion rights.

The court was hearing a challenge to a Louisiana state law requiring doctors who perform abortions to have admitting privileges at a hospital within 30 miles of the clinic. Opponents said the law would limit women’s access to abortion in the state.

“I want to tell you Gorsuch, I want to tell you Kavanaugh, you have released the whirlwind, and you will pay the price,” Schumer said at a rally on the steps outside the high court.

“You won’t know what hit you if you go forward with these awful decisions.”

Schumer’s comments elicited a rare public rebuke from Chief Justice John Roberts and he also got slapped around by Majority Leader Mitch McConnell from the Senate floor Thursday morning.

Trump said that Schumer should “pay a severe price” for the threats.
