President Trump declared early Wednesday that Los Angeles would be “burning to the ground” if he hadn’t sent in the Marines and National Guard to quell anti-ICE riots still wreaking havoc on the city.
“If our troops didn’t go into Los Angeles, it would be burning to the ground right now, just like so much of their housing burned to the ground,” the president wrote on Truth Social, referring to the deadly wildfires that swept through earlier this year.
“The great people of Los Angeles are very lucky that I made the decision to go in and help!!!”

“The INCOMPETENT Governor of California was unable to provide protection in a timely manner when our ICE Officers, GREAT Patriots they are, were attacked by an out-of-control mob of agitators, troublemakers, and/or insurrectionists,” Trump raged in a separate post.
The president has repeatedly defended his decision to deploy 4,000 Guardsmen and 700 Marines to the City of Angels after violent protests erupted over the weekend over his deportation crackdown.
Trump also blasted Democratic California Gov. Gavin Newsom for “allowing the mayhem to get out of hand.” AP

Newsom, for his part, has accused Trump of stoking the flames and exacerbating the conditions by sending in troops.
