Donald Trump has gone from the political frying pan to the deep fryer!
The GOP candidate touched off Chicken-gate after tweeting a picture of himself noshing on the southern-fried comfort food with a knife and fork.
The image shared Monday night showed a smiling Trump aboard his plane, following a campaign rally in Pennsylvania, about to dig into a bucket of KFC. He’s armed with a knife in his right hand and fork in his left.
Social media reaction was swift:
“Trump eats KFC with a knife/fork, no sides, and only one piece of chicken? That’s reason enough not to vote for him,” according to @Camelot3332.
“Alright, that’s it. Trump eats fried chicken with a fork and knife. This is the most offensive thing he’s done yet,” observed @JakeDMarsing.
But there were opposing views as well.
“Trump is so relatable! He eats fried chicken with a knife and fork in his airplane just like a normal,” tweeted @hatethedrake.
Mayor de Blasio was roundly roasted back in 2014 for using a knife and fork on pizza at Goodfellas in Staten Island.
