There was lots of finger-pointing over Melania Trump’s convention address, as Donald Trump Jr. blamed the writers for including passages that copied a Michelle Obama speech nearly verbatim.
“Those people shouldn’t have done it, or they should have cleaned it up better,” Trump Jr. told CBS Tuesday.
His comments undercut Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort’s contention that there was no plagiarism at all in the Monday night address.
Meanwhile, the New York Times reported that sources said speechwriters Matthew Scully and John McConnell sent Melania an early draft to which she made many changes.
