President Trump told European Union officials in Brussels that Germany was “very very bad” on trade and vowed to do something about the situation.

“See the millions of cars they are selling in the US? Terrible,” Trump said, according to Germany’s Der Spiegel. “We will stop this.”

Trump has blasted Germany in the past over its trade surplus, and promised to impose a 35 percent tax on German auto imports.

Although most German-company cars are manufactured outside the United States, some BMW SUVs are built in South Carolina, Mercedes has a plant in Alabama, and many VW Passats are built in Tennessee.
