President Trump, speaking to a group of Hispanic business owners on Wednesday, touted his tax cuts, made a pitch for immigration reform and slammed Democrats for not doing more to help Dreamers.

“At the center of America’s resurgence are the massive tax cuts I just signed into law,” Trump told the Latino Coalition’s Legislative Summit in Washington.

He blamed Democrats for not coming up with a solution for Dreamers, undocumented immigrants who were brought to the United States as children and were protected from deportation by the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program, which he rescinded.

“We’re trying to have a DACA victory for everybody . . . and the Democrats are nowhere to be found,” said the president, who rejected a bipartisan immigration reform plan in January.

And Trump, who angered many people when in 2016 he called people coming to the US from south of the border murderers and rapists, praised the Hispanic community, saying:

“The Latino community embodies the pioneering spirit of America.”
