WASHINGTON – President Trump lashed out against Hillary Clinton on Monday morning and defended his embattled former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn.

Speaking to reporters outside the White House, Trump said it’s “unfair” Flynn’s life was ruined for pleading guilty to lying to the FBI, while his former political opponent walks free.

“I feel badly for General Flynn. … He’s led a very strong life,” Trump said of his former adviser who was charged in the ongoing Russia probe.

“Hillary Clinton lied many times to the FBI, nothing happened to her. Flynn lied and they destroyed his life. I think it’s a shame. … Very unfair.”

Trump made the remarks as he departed the White House en route to Salt Lake City, Utah, for a speech.

Clinton was cleared of any criminal wrongdoing in the FBI investigation into her private email server.
