President Trump turned a technical glitch that temporarily disrupted NBC’s coverage of the first Democratic presidential candidates debate into an ad for his own re-election campaign.
”Thank you @MSNBC, real professionals! @chucktodd @maddow,” the president wrote in the tweet early Thursday.
The tweet linked to a video created by a user who goes by “CarpeDonktum” that shows NBC’s Chuck Todd and MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow reacting during the hot-mic moment during the second hour of Wednesday’s debate.
The video then fades to black as music from Ozzy Osborne’s “Crazy Train” begins to play.
“All aboard! Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!,” he sings in the 1980 song.
Then it shows Trump emerging from a gray fog during the 2016 Republican National Convention.
It ends with an image of a campaign poster for “Trump Pence 2020 Make America Great Again!”
Trump, who tuned in while traveling to Japan, where he’ll attend the G-20 summit of world leaders, tweeted that the debate was “boring” and mocked NBC for the malfunction, saying the network “should be ashamed of themselves for having such a horrible technical breakdown in the middle of the debate.”
”Truly unprofessional and only worthy of a FAKE NEWS Organization, which they are!,” he wrote.
