President Trump nominated 42 people for key roles — including Richard Grenell, a Fox News political analyst, as ambassador to Germany and Rep. Jim Bridenstine (R-Okla.) to head NASA.

Grenell, a former spokesman for the United Nations, is Trump’s first openly gay appointee.

Bridenstine’s nomination has generated controversy with Republican Sen. Marco Rubio and Democratic Sen. Bill Nelson, both of Florida, who object to a politician heading the program.

“The head of NASA ought to be a space professional, not a politician,” Nelson told Politico.
