The eagerly awaited “Trumpies” awards are in, with the New York Times heading the list.
First place in President Trump’s touted awards went to
, who “claimed on the day of President Trump’s historic, landslide victory that the economy would never recover,”

ABC News placed second for
, and CNN placed third, sixth, seventh and ninth.
Trump announced in a tweet Wednesday night that the winners had been chosen.
“And the FAKE NEWS winners are…,” Trump tweeted, along with a link to the results.
But that link — promptly swamped by web traffic — connected users to the Republican National Committee website, which apparently had taken over award duties from the president.

In addition to the New York Times, ABC and CNN, winners of the “Fake News Awards” included Time, the Washington Post and Newsweek for stories ranging from crowd sizes at rallies to erroneously reporting that Polish first lady Agata Kornhauser-Duda didn’t shake Trump’s hand.
And for good measure, the awards threw in an 11th place: “And last, but not least: ‘RUSSIA COLLUSION!’” the listing said with Trumpian caps and exclamation point.
“Russian collusion is perhaps the greatest hoax perpetrated on the American people. THERE IS NO COLLUSION!”
Before handing the awards off to the RNC, Trump had announced in a Jan. 2 tweet that he would be personally choosing “THE MOST DISHONEST & CORRUPT MEDIA AWARDS OF THE YEAR” on Monday.
With no red carpet and no televised ceremony, the “Trumpies” still managed to attract national attention and anticipation.
Late-night hosts, including Stephen Colbert, Jimmy Kimmel and Trevor Noah, had jockeyed to put their names into consideration.
