President Trump will officially kick off his re-election campaign next month and then embark on a swing through several must-win Rust Belt states where polls show he is lagging behind surging Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden, according to reports.

The president has been telling aides he wants to launch his 2020 bid on June 16 — four years to the day after he descended the gold escalator in Trump Tower to announce he was running for president, Axios reported Monday.

But the report cautioned that June 16 is Father’s Day, meaning the announcement could come around that Sunday.

Following the kickoff, Trump is expected to concentrate on firing up his political base in Pennsylvania, Michigan and Wisconsin, where his campaign polling showed the president is trailing Biden, Politico reported.

In a sign of how important the Keystone State will be in 2020, Biden chose Philadelphia as the base for his presidential campaign.

Biden, who was born in Scranton, kicked off his presidential campaign last month at a union hall in Pittsburgh.

And Trump is holding a rally in Montoursville, Pa., Monday evening in a county he won in 2016 by more than 50 percent, following recent stops in Michigan and Wisconsin.

The pro-Trump PAC America First Action is expected to conduct polls and focus groups in Pennsylvania and Michigan this summer, Politico reported.

The campaign wants to shore up support in the three states where Trump eked out wins over Hillary Clinton by less than 1 percentage point in 2016.

“The fact that the president and vice president are frequent travelers to Michigan — I think that shows that everyone gets the math,” former Michigan Attorney General Bill Schuette told Politico. “Do the math: You’ve got to carry a state like a Michigan, a Wisconsin, a Pennsylvania.”
