President Trump’s staffers reportedly are starting to worry about Sen. Elizabeth Warren, whose campaign is gaining steam.
Trump has told donors that the candidate he had dismissed as “Pocahontas’’ because she has claimed to be part Native American is now a threat, Politico said.
The latest view by Trump strategists is that she has a new, more coherent message that he fears will cut into his populist support.
In a recent Quinnipiac Poll, she was running second only to Joe Biden among the Democratic candidates. Warren’s attacks “need to be rebutted,” said Trump campaign pollster John McLaughlin.
