Vice President JD Vance responded Thursday to critics who questioned his effectiveness in talks with Iran, jokingly citing his recent appearance on “The View” as proof to the contrary.

“Just two days ago, I spent over an hour on ‘The View,’ so I actually have great experience in very hostile negotiations,” he told reporters in reference to his Tuesday cameo on the ABC News gabfest.

“Look, Joy Behar is way tougher than the Iranians,” he added, “and she and I are best friends now.”

Vance appeared on the program to promote his new book “Communion,” about his journey to Roman Catholicism.

The show’s left-leaning panelists have frequently criticized both Vance and President Trump over a range of issues, including immigration and race relations.

The VP drew a mixed reception, but appeared to have won a fan in Brooklyn-born Behar.

On the “Behind the Table” podcast, the comedienne agreed with executive producer Brian Teta that “for a Republican,” Vance had a “good vibe.”

The VP also brushed off President Trump’s Wednesday comment that Vance would take the fall if talks go sideways.

“If it works out, I’m going to take the credit. If it doesn’t work out, I’m blaming JD,” Trump said jokingly during a press conference at this week’s G7 summit near Geneva.

“You better be careful, JD. He’s going to turn his plane around and get the hell out of here.”

“I think the president was joking,” Vance said Wednesday, “as he often does.”
