President Donald Trump, facing a deeply divided nation and sagging approval ratings, addresses Congress — and the American people — tonight.

It’s his first State of the Union address, and comes amid intense partisan rancor in D.C.

The economy is expected to be the centerpiece of tonight’s speech, which is also expected to contain an appeal for bipartisanship.

During a traditional pre-speech lunch with television anchors, Trump said, “I would love to be able to bring back our country into a great form of unity.”
