WASHINGTON — The White House Correspondents’ Dinner on Saturday won’t have any White House aides.

Sources said Cabinet Secretary Bill McGinley announced Tuesday morning that administration aides are being barred from the annual event, adding that the directive came directly from President Trump.

News organizations had already set aside tickets for a number of White House officials.

Trump has never attended the black-tie affair since becoming president.

Last year, White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders was ridiculed by comedian Michelle Wolf, so Sanders was already planning to be a no-show.

Trump will be holding a political rally in Green Bay, Wisconsin, on Saturday night, calling the dinner “so boring and so negative.”
