The White House fought back Tuesday against revelations about Jared Kushner’s contacts with Russian officials, saying President Trump’s son-in-law made Trump’s foreign trip “phenomenal.”

“The relationships Jared was able to establish during the transition helped develop this phenomenal international trip,” Trump counselor Kellyanne Conway told Fox News.

Trump, meanwhile, defended Kushner by retweeting an anony­mously sourced Fox News report — shortly after slamming anonymous sources as “fake news” — that said a back channel was the Russians’ idea.
