YouTube announced Tuesday it is suspending President Trump’s channel for at least another week.
The Google-owned company extended the suspension citing the potential to trigger violence, a YouTube spokeswoman said in a statement.
YouTube’s extension means Trump’s 2.79 million subscribers won’t be able to comment under existing videos, and the President is still banned from uploading new content
“In light of concerns about the ongoing potential for violence, the Donald J. Trump channel will be prevented from uploading new videos or livestreams for an additional minimum of seven days,” the spokeswoman said.
YouTube first banned Trump last Tuesday and removed content from his channel out of concern that it would cause violence. However, the tech giant didn’t clarify which video violated its policies.
Other tech companies, including Twitter and Facebook, have banned Trump from posting new content after the violent Capitol Hill riot that killed five people on Jan. 6.
