WASHINGTON — The divide between political parties over the potential nomination of UN Ambassador Susan Rice to be secretary of state intensified yesterday.

Republican senators said they remained deeply concerned over Rice’s statements about the attack on US diplomatic offices in Benghazi, Libya.

Democrats, meanwhile, said they saw no reason the statements should disqualify her if she’s nominated.
