HAMPTON, NJ — Authorities are on the scene of a fire and a possible explosion that leveled a home in New Jersey.
One person escaped the inferno that turned the dwelling into charred ruins.

State Police Lt. Stephen Jones says a person reported a fire or explosion in the home on New Street in Hampton just before 7 a.m. Wednesday.
Jones says a person might have been trapped inside.
Officials don’t know what sparked the blaze in Hunterdon County.
