The head of a New Zealand pottery club is going solo — after her bid to slip a dildo-making class into the group’s curriculum didn’t measure up to members’ standards.

Nicole Gaston thought ceramic sex toys would be an exciting way for the Wellington Potters’ Association to teach techniques such as “hand-building” — but her colleagues never came around to the notion, according to Stuff.

A flier for the now-canceled event said, “ceramic sex toys are fun, beautiful, safe and suitable for all bodies.”

“The world is changing, we’re not all prudes – people are interested in this,” Gaston told the news outlet after quitting the group.

The committee that shot down the plan said it was shocked when Gaston proposed the idea and deemed the sex toy making class inappropriate.

“Through discussion, it was established that the majority of the [committee] were against the workshop for various reasons,” the committee said in a statement to Stuff.

Gaston, then the group’s president, had no option but to quit when when the discussions got heated.

“I see there is a big generational gap, people being progressive,” she said. “Older people are afraid of what that will mean for them.”
