A twisted emergency room nurse in Pennsylvania sexually assaulted patients and secretly recorded hundreds of them on video, authorities said.

Michael David Bragg, a 39-year-old nurse at UPMC Carlisle, victimized a nude, unconscious woman in the hospital’s emergency room and touched the breasts of another patient at the 165-bed facility, Pennsylvania Attorney General Josh Shapiro said Wednesday.

“People who were rushed to the emergency room or needed serious medical attention were violated by this man,” Shapiro said in a statement. “This sick sexual predator took advantage of patients when they were at their most vulnerable, in need of care.”

Bragg — who allegedly recorded 206 patients, including nearly 24 juveniles — was originally arrested in April on child porn charges after a search of his Chambersburg home revealed surreptitiously recorded footage of children using the bathroom there.

As that investigation continued, detectives found videos of patients at the hospital on Bragg’s laptop computer, leading to the new charges, Shapiro said.

“This was a complex, technical investigation which led to these charges being filed,” he said. “But in the end, it was a simple case of standing up for victims.”

Bragg, who started working at the hospital in January 2016, passed all background checks prior to his hiring. He was fired after administrators learned of the charges he faced in April, a spokeswoman told PennLive.com.

“We understand that patients, their families and the community feel shocked, upset and concerned, and we share these feelings,” hospital officials said in a statement. “We are deeply disturbed and saddened that someone could be responsible for actions that are in stark contrast to our mission and core values, which include care, respect and safety.”

Bragg — who is facing more than 20 charges, including aggravated indecent assault and sexual abuse of children — is set to be arraigned Thursday, PennLive.com reported.
