President Obama met with UN Ambassador Susan Rice yesterday, a day after she withdrew her name to become the next secretary of state over her discredited explanation of the deadly attack on US diplomats in Libya.

The White House did not comment on their discussion. But the public announcement of the meeting signaled Obama’s strong backing of Rice to continue to serve the administration in his second term.
