Health and Human Services Secretary Tom Price said Thursday he’ll only pay for a fraction of the hundreds of thousands of taxpayer dollars he blew on chartered flights.

Politico revealed that Price flew by private jet 26 times since last May for both personal and official business.

Price said again on Thursday that the expensive travel was approved by lawyers and HHS brass.

“Today, I will write a personal check to the US Treasury for the expenses of my travel on private charter planes. The taxpayers won’t pay a dime for my seat on those planes,” he said.

An HHS spokesperson said Price would be paying $51,887.31 to cover his share of travel.

Based on Politico’s reporting, that’s about 12 percent of the more than $400,000 the charters cost taxpayers.

Price’s statement referred to paying for “my seat” and did not address the cost of staff and security officials that accompanied him, Politico said.

Previous HHS secretaries usually flew commercial, and President Trump said Wednesday he was angry at Price.

“I will tell you, personally, I’m not happy about it. I am not happy about it. I’m going to look at it. I am not happy about it, and I let him know it,” he said.
