Prince Andrew has withdrawn from all 230 of his patronage posts, Buckingham Palace has confirmed.

“The Duke has over 230 patronages,” the palace said in a statement over the weekend. “He will be stepping back from public duty and temporarily standing back from all his patronages.

“The Duke will continue to work on [the jobs initiative] Pitch and will look at how he takes this forward outside of his public duties, and outside of Buckingham Palace. We recognize there will be a period of time while this transition takes place.”

The extraordinary move comes about a week after the British royal’s disastrous TV interview over his ties to late multimillionaire pedophile Jeffrey Epstein.
