The Queens DA has asked a judge to toss out a murder conviction and order a new trial for a man accused of killing a club owner – after admitting a prosecutor withheld crucial information in the case.
Tyrone Johnson was charged in the Feb. 5, 2000, murder of Leroy Vann.
But Johnson’s lawyers say prosecutors knew that a key witness, Shanese Knight, had sworn she had seen someone else kill Vann and that they kept the information from the defense.
