The man who killed “American Sniper” Chris Kyle and his pal was in a state of pot-induced psychosis when he shot them but knew what he was doing was wrong, a forensic psychologist testified Friday.
Dr. Randall Price determined that Eddie Ray Routh, 27, doesn’t meet the state’s definition of insanity, the Dallas Morning News reported.
“He did know what he was doing was wrong, and he did it anyway,” Price testified, adding Routh that suffers from a personality disorder instead of schizophrenia.
Another expert for the prosecution said Routh has a mood disorder, not a serious mental disease.
Routh has pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity.
