A salacious letter purportedly written by Jeffrey Epstein that directly referenced President Trump is fake, the Justice Department said Tuesday.
“The FBI has confirmed that this alleged letter from Jeffrey Epstein to Larry Nassar is FAKE,” the DOJ wrote on X hours after it pledged it was “looking into the validity of this alleged letter.”
Epstein purportedly wrote the letter to fellow jailed sex offender Larry Nassar — the disgraced USA Gymnastics doctor who is serving hundreds of years of prison for abusing girls under his care.

“This fake letter serves as a reminder that just because a document is released by the Department of Justice does not make the allegations or claims within the document factual. Nevertheless, the DOJ will continue to release all material required by law,” the department wrote.
The DOJ explained in detail why the letter is fake. DOJ“Dear L.N.,” begins the handwritten note, first disclosed in a 2023 Epstein document dump — before it seemingly alludes to the disgraced financier’s intentions to end his life.
“As you know by now, I have taken the ‘short route’ home. Good luck!”
The author then goes into creepy detail about the two convicts’ predilections for underage girls.
“We shared one thing … our love & caring for young ladies and the hope they’d reach their full potential.”
At one point it says, “Our president also shares our love of young, nubile girls. When a young beauty walked by he loved to ‘grab s—ch,’ whereas we ended up snatching grub in the mess halls of the system.”
“Life is unfair,” the author concludes before signing off: “Yours, J. Epstein.”
