Savannah Guthrie and her family are facing a terrifying, fast-approaching deadline to pay a $6 million ransom later Monday to fiends claiming to have the “Today” co-host’s missing 84-year-old mom, Nancy Guthrie.
The ransom note gave a deadline of 5 p.m. Arizona time (7 p.m. ET) to pay a bitcoin account or face serious consequences nine days after the family matriarch is assumed to have been snatched from her bed in her million-dollar Catalina Foothills home near Tucson.
In her latest plea to those claiming to hold her mom, Savannah Guthrie said the family was ready to pay — but needed proof that their mom was still alive.

“We beg you now to return our mother to us so that we can celebrate with her. This is the only way we will have peace.
“This is very valuable to us, and we will pay.”
Adding to the pressing deadline, the missing mom has a pacemaker and health conditions that could kill her if she goes without her medications.

“You still have the time to do the right thing before this becomes a much worse scenario for you,” he said. “Please return Nancy home.”
Arizona cops continue to search for Nancy, with officers seen looking through a septic tank and a manhole at her home and taking photos inside the property late at night.
Officials have been tight-lipped, not revealing whether anything was found.
Pima County cops have confirmed the force will maintain a presence at the 84-year-old’s home to keep people away.
Cops carried out a late-night search at Annie’s home — located around four miles from Nancy’s property — on Saturday night.
Investigators were indoors for around three hours and were seen wearing blue gloves and carrying brown bags, according to NewsNation.
Nancy was reported missing Feb. 1 after failing to show up for a church service.
She was last seen around 9:45 p.m. the night before, following a family dinner. Her garage door opened at 9:48 p.m. before closing two minutes later.

Nancy’s subscription had lapsed, and cops have said there’s no video available.
Nancy’s pacemaker disconnected from her cellphone just before 2:30 a.m. local time.
She was allegedly snatched from her Catalina Foothills home. Andy Johnstone for CA PostFBI agents are offering a reward of up to $50,000 for any information that leads to Nancy being found, or a suspect being arrested.
Although FBI Director Kash Patel is visiting Tucson, it is “unrelated to this investigation,” Brooke Brennan, the FBI Phoenix’s public affairs officer, told CNN.
“Director Patel is receiving personal updates from his team on this case,” Brennan said, without elaborating on exactly why he is traveling to the area, beyond saying it was planned “weeks prior.”
