This antelope narrowly escaped death — twice in one day.

The impala sought refuge in the Khwai River in Botswana after a pack of wild dogs was on its tail.

But things only got worse for the deer-like animal, which found itself trapped by a hungry hippo ready to chow down on the antelope.

Stunning photos snapped by Barcroft Media Sunday show the impala narrowly escaping death after running from the open-mouthed hippo.

The lucky antelope made it to safety, though — jumping onto a grassy patch just out of reach of the hippo.
