A thief in Florida snatched a rare, tiny monkey from her zoo enclosure — and authorities are offering up to $6,000 for the animal’s safe return.

Kali, a 12-year-old Goeldi’s monkey, weighing about just one pound, was stolen from the Palm Beach Zoo early Monday morning, West Palm Beach police said.

The petite primate has a special diet and needs her daily anti-inflammation medication, zoo officials said.

“Every minute is of essence,” zoo spokesperson Naki Carter told WPTV on Tuesday.

“This very small and rare monkey is increasingly sought after for the illegal pet trade,” Margo McKnight, president and CEO of the Palm Beach Zoo and Conservation Society, told the Sun-Sentinel.
