A sweltering heat wave in parts of Australia is sparking fresh fears of wildfires.

Parts of the continent sweated through the hottest November night on record on Saturday.

The mercury rose to 104 degrees Fahrenheit in Sydney, and neared 113 degrees across western New South Wales, South Australia, and northern Victoria.

Temperatures are predicted to be nearly as hot on Sunday.

The hot, dry conditions have prompted officials to issue a total ban on outdoor fires.

Fires devastated Australia from July 2019 to March 2020.
