Bring on the “Green New Deal,” some Republicans say.

The environmental and economic proposal from congressional Democrats is being welcomed by GOPers who say the ambitious plan is so vague, yet so extreme, that it will backfire on Dems.

“Let’s vote on the Green New Deal!” tweeted Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC). “Americans deserve to see what kind of solutions far-left Democrats are offering to deal with climate change.”

Rep. Mike Simpson (R-Idaho) echoed Graham’s remarks.

“I’d like to see it on the floor. I’d like to see them actually have to vote on it,” he told Politico. “It’s crazy. It’s loony.”

The proposal from Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-Bronx, Queens) and Sen. Ed Markey (D-Mass.) aims to reduce greenhouse gases, among other goals.
