WARWICK, RI — Rhode Island Gov. Lincoln Chafee yesterday credited President Obama with inspiring him to join the Democratic Party.

Chafee, an ex-GOP senator who first became an independent, said yesterday, “Having President Obama be the Democratic leader had a lot to do with it.”

He said he looked forward to working with fellow Democratic governors on phasing in ObamaCare insurance exhanges.
