Brace yourselves, hockey fans — Rob Ford, Toronto’s scandal-ridden former mayor — is now a member of the Hockey Hall of Fame Board of Directors.

“I’ve got season tickets to the [Toronto Maple] Leafs, and I’m obsessed with hockey and obviously football . . . but hockey’s my number one sport,’’ he said.

Many hockey fans took to Twitter Saturday to blast Ford, who has admitted to getting drunk and smoking crack while mayor.

“I just lost all respect for the Hockey Hall of Fame,” tweeted Canadian sports columnist Jack Todd.

“Rob Ford should never be appointed to anything ever,’’ tweeted @bebekling. “Unless it’s to a jail cell.”

But Ford, 45, defended himself, promising do everything he can to promote the sport to children.

“I like rolling up my sleeves and showing up to meetings and getting it done,’’ he said.

Ford is scheduled for surgery May 11 to remove a cancerous tumor from his abdomen.
