Rosie O’Donnell falsely claimed the transgender Minneapolis Catholic school shooter was a “Republican, MAGA person, white supremacist” in a conspiracy-laden tirade on social media — while the shooter in fact had scribbled “kill Donald Trump” on one of his gun magazines.
The former talk show host posted a video on TikTok telling her followers: “What do you know? [The shooter] was a white guy, Republican, MAGA person. White supremacist.”
But the claim is flatly contradicted by the evidence.

TikTok/@rosieThe shooter, 29-year-old Robin Westman, left behind a disturbing manifesto and social media posts showing hatred of Trump — even scribbling “Kill Donald Trump” one of his rifle magazines — along with nihilistic ramblings, racist and anti-Semitic insults.
Westman’s manifesto also included statements of despair over gender identity.
Law enforcement, fact-checkers and national media have all found no links to the Republican Party, MAGA movement or white supremacist organizations. Still, O’Donnell doubled down.

- Robin Westman, a 23-year-old trans woman, opened fire through the stained glass windows on Wednesday morning during a celebratory back-to-school Mass filled with children.
- The shooting killed two children and injured at least 18 others, before Westman died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
- Westman had written “Kill Donald Trump” and “for the children” on gun magazines, and posted videos of a handwritten manifesto.
- Westman’s mother had worked at the school.
“The NRA is a terrorist organization. And they have been for many years,” she said, before blasting America for valuing guns over kids.
“When is enough, enough America? Haven’t you had enough of Donald Trump? The Heritage Foundation? All their bulls–t? He’s their puppet … but guess what? It’s coming to an end.”
She then veered into Trump’s health and mortality, claiming, “Whether physically, emotionally, spiritually — or all of them wrapped up into one — he’s not doing well. He wants to get into heaven. I find that comical.”
Westman also left behind a final video message and handwritten manifesto pages declaring he had been “plotting for so long” and sneering “f–k those kids.”

His uncle, former Kentucky GOP Rep. Bob Heleringer, told The Post he wished he had been the one killed instead of the Catholic schoolchildren.
O’Donnell’s tirade went far beyond the false shooter claim, as she alleged Trump was plotting martial law through Project 2025, urged followers to “protest and resist,” and pushed conspiracy theories that Elon Musk rigged the 2024 election and that Kamala Harris was the “real winner.”
The actress has relocated to Ireland, saying she fled the United States after Trump’s return to power because she feared how he would govern in his second term.
