An Alabama judge on Thursday tossed a lawsuit by Republican Roy Moore attempting to block the certification of Democrat Doug Jones as the winner of a Senate race.

Montgomery Circuit Judge Johnny Hardwick denied Moore’s attempt to stop Jones from being officially credited with winning the Dec. 12 special election amid claims that widespread voter fraud affected the election’s results

Jones is expected to be certified as the winner Thursday by Secretary of State John Merrill, who has said there is no evidence of voter fraud.
