Democrat Doug Jones has taken the lead over Republican Roy Moore in Alabama’s special-election campaign to fill a vacant Senate seat, according to the latest poll.

Jones, 63, is backed by 50 percent of likely voters, while 47 percent support Moore, 70, in a Washington Post-Schar School survey conducted Monday through Thursday.

Moore had a six-point advantage before the Washington Post on Nov. 9 revealed allegations that he had made improper sexual advances on teenage girls in the 1970s when he was in his 30s.
