WASHINGTON — Rising star Sen. Marco Rubio proved Wednesday that he really is ready to be president — at least when it comes to avoiding questions.

Rubio (R-Fla.), who is eyeing a White House run in 2016, took center stage at a House hearing on his bill that would eliminate ObamaCare provisions that provide taxpayer bailouts to insurance companies.

But after testifying, Rubio was excused without fielding a single question.

His office said that’s a courtesy extended to all senators.

“It is not right to allow a powerful industry to use its influence here in Washington to protect itself from the consequences of Obama­Care,” Rubio told the panel.
