Rudy Boesch, the oldest person to ever participate on CBS’ Survivor has died at the age of 91, TMZ reported.
Boesch, a former Navy Seal, participated in the debut season of the reality show then simply known as “Survivor Borneo.” He was 72 at the time and had been retired from military service for a decade. Always a fan favorite, he also made an appearance on “Survivor: All-Stars” in 2004.
Boesch enlisted in the Navy in 1945 and served in Vietnam where he earned a Bronze Star for bravery. Boesch had suffered from Alzheimer’s Disease in his later years and had been living in an assisted living facility.
His wife Marge died in 2008.
