Russian Defense Ministry on Wednesday, March 23, released new footage that shows the launch of “Kalibr” cruise missiles against Ukrainian armed forces.
The ministry said in a statement that eight missiles were launched from a guided-missile warship near the Black Sea port of Sevastopol and three Bastion missiles were fired from coastal defense systems at targets belonging to the Ukrainian forces.
The sea-launched land-attack Kalibr cruise missiles are being used by the Russian navy to target Ukrainian cities. But the country released the launch of these missiles for the first time.
Kalibr missile with an estimated range of 1,500 to 2,500 km (932 to 1,553 miles) which has been in service since 2015 was tested and used in Syria.
