Russia wants you to join the Dark Side.
“Come to our side – follow us on twitter on #StarWarsDay,” the Russian embassy in the UK declared on Thursday.
Accompanying the missive is an image of Darth Vader holding up a smart phone to take a selfie.
The social outreach comes on meme-laden May 4, or “May the Fourth be with you” – the traditional holiday for “Star Wars” aficionados.
The pop-culture pun dates back to May 4, 1979, when the London Evening News used a play on the famous “Star Wars” phrase to congratulate Margaret Thatcher for becoming prime minister.
