A two-minute snippet of leaked video captioned “ready to fight” appears to show Russian troops maneuvering tanks into position near the border of Ukraine as tensions between the neighboring nations flare.
The clip, apparently recorded by Russian soldiers, captures a group of armored vehicles assembling in a muddy field, then switches to show an assortment of military trucks that have been loaded onto a train for long-distance transport, The Sun reported.
A short scene labeled “military training” shows a large piece of crane-like machinery behind a corrugated metal fence.
The Biden administration this week said the US may send warships to the Black Sea in the next few weeks to counter Russia’s increased military presence on Ukraine’s border.
Russia’s annexation of Ukraine’s Crimea region in 2014 led to the imposition of US and European Union sanctions and sparked ongoing conflict there.
Ukraine officials say the fighting there has killed 14,000 people.
