Ousted New York Magazine reporter Olivia Nuzzi and Robert F. Kennedy Jr. “planned to consummate their relationship,” according to her scorned ex fiancé, who said the alleged rendezvous was foiled when he learned of the duo’s sexting affair.

Former Politico reporter Ryan Lizza made the allegation in the fourth installment of his Substack series that has focused on his ex Nuzzi’s short-lived digital fling with Kennedy during his doomed presidential bid.

Lizza claimed Nuzzi and the 71-year-old Kennedy scion planned to take their relationship to the next level after RFK. Jr. officially bowed out of the presidential race.

“Bobby and Olivia planned to consummate their relationship on August 23, 2024, in Phoenix, Arizona, after he endorsed Trump at a rally in nearby Glendale,” Lizza, 51, wrote on Substack.

“The timing was perfect. Bobby would no longer be a presidential candidate himself, so the media glare would dim, and, more importantly, Olivia later told me, he would no longer have the Secret Service protection that complicated an encounter. (And presumably Cheryl wouldn’t be around, either.),” Lizza continued, referring to Kennedy’s wife, Cheryl Hines.

But Lizza said pair’s alleged planned sexcapade was derailed since he was set to cover that same rally for Politico, and it was then that he learned about the bombshell affair.

“Olivia reluctantly canceled her rendezvous with Bobby, who was about to become one of the most powerful figures in the Trump universe, a fortuitous development because Olivia was wrapping up her latest New York [M]agazine assignment, a profile of Trump,” Lizza wrote.

In Lizza’s third chapter, released last Wednesday, he alleged that Nuzzi transformed from a “journalist to political operative” for Kennedy during their affair.

Nuzzi would later admit to the fling herself, though she only vaguely referred to Kennedy as “the politician” in a damning memoir recounting the evolution of their relationship after the disgraced reporter wrote a profile about him in October 2023.

News of their tryst originally broke in August 2024.

In the fallout, Lizza dumped Nuzzi while Kennedy repeatedly denied ever associating with her.

Now, Nuzzi’s job with Vanity Fair is hanging in the balance following the allegations made by Lizza in his Substack series, Page Six reported.
